Hello Windows 10
The familiar Windows Desktop is back, only better.

These are my Windows 10 screens, I have been using Windows 10 Beta since October 1, 2014.  Most of us will receive the Windows 10 Home version.  Your Windows 10 Desktop will look like this only it will have your icons on the Windows Desktop and your icons in the Taskbar.  It will be very familiar to you and so user friendly.

In the Taskbar you will have a few new icons which will make computing must faster and easier.

On the bottom left is the Start button, Search Box, a microphone icon, click on microphone icon and ask Cortana a question, or type in the Search Box.   The next icon is called Task View and will show Apps that are open. Click on the crazy e and it will open EDGE.

This is my Windows 10 DESKTOP screen.
Windows 10 has a Desktop Screen, just like Windows 7 -- only better. Windows 10 boots straight to the desktop.
Internet Explorer is taking a backseat to a new Web browser EDGE, which is faster than a speeding bullet.  Microsoft's Siri-like Cortana voice assistant you can talk to her and she talks back. If you ask her "who is your Daddy", she may answer "Bill Gates".
Right click an empty space on the Taskbar, and configure Cortana. I suggest you select Show search box. You can type in the search box or click on the Microphone and ask Cortana.  You can ask her to open WORD or What is the weather like or Who is the coach of Kentucky basketball? Laptops have a video camera. If you own a DESKTOP you have to have a Mike or Microsoft video camera, about $32, and you plug it in to your USB port.

This is my new Windows 10 START screen after Anniversary update.

It has a list of your most used apps, most visited folders and recently added software. Now the Apps are listed. To the left of the Apps are tiny icons that if you place you cursor on them there name will come up, like Documents, Pictures, Settings.  Power button on the bottom left (turn computer off).

For other Anniversary update changes Please go to: http://www.ckcs.org/joetips.pdf   and click on Windows 10 TIPS and Tricks. (Give it some time to come up)

To download Windows 10 now and not wait for a notice from Microsoft.

Watch live Lexington traffic online

A new traffic camera system in Lexington allows commuters to take a look at traffic conditions online.
The high-definition cameras are placed at 79 heavy-traffic intersections
around the city, and anyone can see the live footage at
https://trafficvid.lexingtonky.gov/publicmap/ . More traffic cameras will be added to other intersections as the network connecting the cameras expands.
The project cost about $170,000 and used existing traffic camera
infrastructure. (I have been waiting a long time for this, I love it.)

To move the map to different locations, left click and drag.
You can enlarge the map with the wheel on your mouse, click on a business and it will show a photo of the business, location, phone, hours open, and reviews.

Below is only a photo. You have to click on the link above, then click on the camera at the location you want.

On the left, just click on CAMERAS, then click on the location.

.

This really got to me.  God love her.
